Q: I taped over (insert name of tape here)... can you restore it?
A: Unfortunately not. Once the magnetic field of a tape has been altered,
it is altered.
Q: How long does it take to repair a tape?
A: A single tape can be repaired the same day we receive it or the next
business day. Larger requests can take a few days.
Q: What method of shipping do you use?
A: We generally ship tapes via US Postal service priority mail
with delivery
confirmation. This method of shipment is included in the price of repair.
Special shipping methods are considered if the tape is needed quickly.
Obviously, this will increase the price by the cost of the overnight
shipping charges. We commonly ship via Fed-ex overnight. Overnight delivery
could be charged to your Fed-ex account number. Otherwise the cost of
overnight delivery via Fed-ex will be $20.00 extra.
Q: What method of payment do you prefer?
A: In order to keep
the cost of your repair to a minimum, we prefer a personal or business check
or money order. International customers should send an international money
order in US dollars. VISA, Mastercard and American Express are
also accepted.
Q: What formats do you repair?
A: On a daily basis we repair VHS, VHS-C, Super VHS, 8mm, Hi-8, Digital
8, and Mini-DV video tapes.
We also repair standard audio cassettes and microcassettes, ADAT and DAT formats.
Q: Is my repair confidential?
A: Yes... in fact, no one ever hears or views the tape except to check
periodically for quality control purposes.
We are proud to serve many legal firms that have, for whatever reasons,
damaged microcassettes containing interviews. We also serve the medical
profession in much the same manner. Confidentiality is guaranteed. No
information about the contents of your tape will be given out over the phone
or via email -- even to you.
Q: Do you transfer cassettes onto a CD?
A: Yes... We will transfer non-copyrighted audio material onto a CD. The
cost of this service is $20 for each 74 minute increment of audio. We do
not, however, transfer commercial recordings or "Mega-Mix" tapes without
authentic written permission from the copyright holder.
Q: Do you transfer video cassettes to DVD?
A: Yes... We will transfer non-copyrighted video material onto DVD.
The cost of the service is $20 for each hour of video footage.
We can transfer the following formats: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, 8mm, Hi-8,
Digital 8, and Mini-DV.
